DURING THE PAST WEEK OFFICERS FROM THE TENNESSEE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTION COMPLETED UNANNOUNCED HOME VISITS ON HUNDREDS OF SEX OFFENDERS UNDER COMMUNITY SUPERVISION.  ACCORDING TO A PRESS RELEASE, DURING OPERATION CLEAN SWEEP, PROBATION PAROLE OFFICERS VISITED 358 HOMES ACROSS MIDDLE TENNESSEE UNANNOUNCED. COMMUNITY SUPERVISION OF OFFENDERS CONSISTS OF IN-OFFICE VISITS, HOME VISITS, EMPLOYMENT CHECKS, AND COLLATERAL CHECKS WITH NEIGHBORS, FRIENDS AND FAMILY.  THESE ADDITIONAL VISITS ARE JUST ANOTHER WAY THE TENNESSEE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTION IS WORKING TO ENHANCE PUBLIC SAFETY FOR TENNESSEANS. DURING THE MIDDLE TENNESSEE OPERATION, EIGHTEEN OFFENDERS HAD MINOR VIOLATIONS.  THESE OFFENDERS WILL BE SANCTIONED AND HAVE FOLLOW-UP VISITS WITH THEIR SUPERVISING OFFICER THIS WEEK.  SIMILAR OPERATIONS WILL TAKE PLACE THROUGHOUT THE STATE IN UPCOMING WEEKS
