A MORNING FIRE HAS CLAIMED A SOUTH CENTRAL LAWRENCE COUNTY RESIDENCE.  MEMBERS OF THE GANDY, LEOMA, CROSSROADS, CENTER POINT, SOUTHEAST, AND LAWRENCEBURG FIRE DEPARTMENTS WERE CALLED TO THE BLAZE JUST BEFORE 9 FRIDAY MORNING AT THE LONG BRANCH ROAD PROPERTY.  THE FIRE WAS DISCOVERED BY LAWRENCEBURG UTILITY SYSTEM EMPLOYEES DOING WORK IN THE AREA.  DESPITE CREWS BATTLING THE BLAZE FOR A NUMBER OF HOURS, THE HOME SUSTAINED HEAVY DAMAGE.  LAWRENCE COUNTY E-M-S AND BOX 50 RESPONDER SERVICES UNIT ASSISTED AT THE SCENE.  THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION.
