AN UNDERCOVER OPERATION IN ST. JOSEPH RESULTED IN THE ARREST OF A LAWRENCE COUNTY COUPLE OVER THE WEEKEND. ACCORDING TO A PRESS RELEASE, THE OPERATION WAS CONDUCTED BY THE LORETTO POLICE DEPARTMENT, ALONG WITH ASSISTANCE FROM THE LAWRENCEBURG POLICE DEPARTMENT AND THE LAWRENCE COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT, AND TOOK PLACE IN THE AREA OF PENNY ROAD. OFFICERS STOPPED A VEHICLE DRIVEN BY 45 YEAR OLD RODNEY HEATHERLY AND OCCUPIED BY 39 YEAR OLD ANGELA SHORT. WARRANTS HAD BEEN PREVIOUSLY OBTAINED BY OFFICERS AGAINST HEATHERLY FOR THE SALE OF METHAMPHETAMINE ON THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS IN AND AROUND THE LORETTO AREA. SHORT WAS FOUND IN POSSESSION OF 2 GRAMS OF METH. A SEARCH OF HEATHERLY'S RESIDENCE ON MCINTYRE ROAD ALSO TURNED UP ANOTHER 6 GRAMS OF METH. HEATHERLY WAS CHARGED WITH THREE COUNTS OF SELLING METHAMPHETAMINE AND POSSESSION FOR RESALE. HE WAS BOOKED IN THE LAWRENCE COUNTY JAIL ON A 150 THOUSAND DOLLAR BOND. SHORT WAS CHARGED WITH POSSESSION FOR RESALE AND HER BOND WAS SET AT 10 THOUSAND DOLLARS.
