Chad Wallace with the Lawrence County Disk Golf Club shared plans for their 4th Annual Josie’s Journey Open to be held at Scout and Hope Springs Park on November 6. Slots for 90 disk golfers have already been filled and tournament proceeds will benefit Project Sweet Peas which is a 501(c)3 national non-profit organization that provides support to families of premature or sick infants and to those who have been affected by pregnancy and infant loss. Other tournaments have also been scheduled with the next event scheduled in August.
According to Wallace, the Lawrence County Disk Golf club works with the cities of Lawrenceburg, Loretto, and St. Joseph to lay out and maintain disk golf courses in the respective communities. The club is funded through the annual sale of disk golf tags with approximately 125 currently sold. The courses are open to the public and may be played free of charge.
Rotarian Olivia White introduced the program.
