A WELFARE CHECK OF A COUPLE IN A VEHICLE LED TO A DRUG ARREST ON SUNDAY IN LAWRENCE COUNTY. ACCORDING TO REPORTS, DEPUTIES WITH THE LAWRENCE COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT WERE DISPATCHED TO SOUTH MT. ARARAT ROAD IN REFERENCE TO A VAN PULLED TO THE SIDE WITH 2 OCCUPANTS SEEMINGLY PASSED OUT. UPON ARRIVAL BOTH SUBJECTS AWAKENED AND APPEARED IMPAIRED. CLIFFORD A. SINCLAIR WAS ASKED TO STEP OUT OF THE VEHICLE AT WHICH TIME A SYRINGE WAS SEEN LAYING IN THE DRIVER’S SEAT. SINCLAIR ADVISED IT WAS HIS AND BOTH HE AND THE OTHER OCCUPANT, MADISON M. WEATHERS WERE DETAINED. A SEARCH OF THE VEHICLE LED TO THE DISCOVERY OF A BOX CONTAINING METH, MARIJUANA, PIPES, SYRINGES, BAGGIES AND SCALES BELONGING TO WEATHERS AND 3 ADDITIONAL SYRINGES WERE FOUND IN SINCLAIRS POCKET. SINCLAIR FACES CHARGES OF SIMPLE POSSESSION AND POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA AND WEATHERS FACES CHARGES OF POSSESSION OF SCHED II DRUGS FOR RESALE, SIMPLE POSSESSION AND POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA. BOTH WERE TRANSPORTED TO THE LAWRENCE COUNTY JAIL WITHOUT INCIDENT.
