A LAUDERDALE COUNTY MAN WAS ARRESTED ON THURSDAY FOR AN ORGANIZED CRIME SCHEME THAT STEMS BACK TO JANUARY. ACCORDING TO A PRESS RELEASE, DETECTIVES WITH THE FLORENCE POLICE DEPARTMENT HAVE BEEN INVESTIGATING THE CASE SINCE JANUARY 12TH, WHEN THE POLICE RECEIVED A REPORT OF A MALE WHO DEPOSITED NUMEROUS FORGED CHECKS INTO NUMEROUS ACCOUNTS AT A SHOALS AREA CREDIT UNION. MULTIPLE BRANCHES WERE USED AND OVER $16,000 WAS TAKEN. THROUGH A VIDEO OBTAINED BY THE CREDIT UNION THE SUSPECT WAS IDENTIFIED, ABDUL M ARNOLD OF FLORENCE. WARRANTS WERE OBTAINED AND ARNOLD WAS ARRESTED FOR THEFT OF PROPERTY 1ST DEGREE AND 49 COUNTS OF POSSESSION OF A FORGED INSTRUMENT 3RD DEGREE. ARNOLD IS CURRENTLY INCARCERATED ON A $79,000 BAIL.
