Lawrence County Fire Rescue (LCFR) crews responded to a busy series of calls late Monday night, August 11, handling multiple incidents in quick succession.

Shortly after 10:30 p.m., units from the Center Point station were dispatched to a vehicle fire on Dixon Branch Road, just outside the Loretto city limits. Because of the call’s location, an automatic aid engine company was requested to assist. Firefighters worked together to quickly bring the blaze under control.

At the same time, LCFR crews were sent to a possible structure fire on Ethridge Red Hill Road, where smoke was reported in the attic of a home. Several units from the Ethridge Fire Department arrived quickly, located the source of the smoke, and resolved the situation. Automatic aid units from Lawrenceburg Fire and the Henryville station were canceled en route as the incident was mitigated.

Later, at 11:39 p.m., LCFR was called to provide mutual aid on Walker Road in neighboring Lewis County. Initial reports indicated a camper being used as a residence and a vehicle were on fire, threatening a nearby structure. Units from Summertown and Ethridge Fire also responded. The first arriving LCFR crews confirmed the camper was fully involved in flames. Firefighters acted quickly to extinguish the blaze.
