Larry Wade Stooksberry, 66, of Loretto, TN, passed away August 8, 2025, at his residence, after a long, hard-fought battle with cancer. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend. Stooks grew up in Iron City, TN, attended and graduated from Loretto High School in 1977, resided in Loretto, TN, with his family, and was an active member of Iron City First Baptist Church. He loved Atlanta Braves, UT football, NASCAR, but most of all he loved to watch his boys play the sports that they loved. Stooks worked at Murray Ohio for 19 years and then he was a maintenance technician at Nucor Steel, in Decatur, AL, for 22 years.

Wife: Sally White Stooksberry
Sons: Austin Stooksberry(Alexis) & Aaron Stooksberry(Savanna)
Sister: Pamela Stooksberry
Sister-in-law: Susan Alsup
Several nephews, nieces & great nephews
Preceded in death by:
Parents: William Edward Stooksberry & Evelene Gambrell Stooksberry
Brother: Teddy Stooksberry
Visitation will be Sunday, August 10, 2025, from 11:00am – 2:00pm, at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00pm, in the funeral home chapel, with Bro. Steven Turnbow & Bro. Craig Mason officiating. Burial will follow at Hollis Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Allen Price, Greg Holden, Robbie Gray, Mike Wimberly, John McHalffey & Stefan Pigg.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Garry Holden, Tommy “Bucket” Steele, Kirby Alsup & Benji Mason.
The family would like to say a special thank you to everyone for the support and encouragement during Stook’s journey & Dr. K & team at CCI at Huntsville.
In lieu flowers, please make donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
