One Injured, One Arrested in Lawrence County Shooting on Piney Road

On Tuesday, 07/29/2025, at approximately 10:00 pm, the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department responded to a shooting at a residence on Piney Road. Upon arrival, deputies and EMS made contact with a male subject, who had been shot with a shotgun. EMS immediately provided medical attention and Deputies gathered information involving the incident. The shooting victim was transported shortly thereafter to Vanderbilt Medical Center by Lifeflight. The shooting victim is considered critical but stable. Deputies were able to identify another male subject who shot the victim. At this time an arrest has been made, but this is still an ongoing investigation.
