A man found dead inside a vehicle at a Tennessee tow yard was from Michigan according to authorities.

The man was identified as Dale Hilsabeck, 63, of Lansing, according to authorities.

He was the registered owner of the 2007 Hummer H3 in which he was found inside.

Police started investigating the “suspicious death” May 1st when officers were called to E.A. Towing in Wayne County after employees found the body while completing a tow lien on the Hummer since no one had claimed it.

The vehicle, which was believed to be abandoned, was towed from the Walmart store on Old Fort Parkway on Saturday, April 5th.

The workers found the man’s body in the back of the locked vehicle on a sleeping mat. The vehicle’s windows were covered in blackout material, which made it hard to see inside.

Detectives are waiting for autopsy results to determine his cause of death, and authorities say the towing company and Walmart have been cooperating with the investigation.
