Fayetteville Man Killed In Mother’s Day Accident

A Fayetteville man was killed in a multi-vehicle wreck in Chattanooga on Mother’s Day.

According to authorities officers and fire crews were dispatched to I-75 North regarding an accident involving six passenger vehicles and a tractor-trailer with two vehicles on fire.

Two people died from their injuries sustained in the wreck.

One of the victims was Lane Smith of Fayetteville, and the second victim, who has not been identified, is from Dawsonville, Georgia.

Smith leaves behind his wife, Baleigh and their two children.

A GoFundMe has been started to cover medical and funeral expenses, the family was on their way home from their daughter’s dance competition when the wreck occurred.

Smith died from his injuries and his wife and children were critically injured.
