Mary Katherine McGee

Mary Katherine McGee, age 95, of Nashville, TN passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at her residence. She was a native of Lawrenceburg, TN, a retired cosmetologist, former member of First Street Church of Christ in Lawrenceburg,TN, but is a current member of Woodland Hills Church of Christ in Nashville, TN, and a member of the Good Sam Club. She enjoyed writing poetry and hosting singing in her home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer Kelsey Moore, Sr. and Jerrie Roxie Shaffer Shelby Moore; her husband, Charles Forrest “C.F.” McGee; her brother, Elmer Kelsey “Sonny” Moore, Jr.; her sister, Jewell Alene Smith; her aunt and uncle whom raised her, Newton and Emma Bailey.

She is survived by two sons, Charles Danny McGee (Kathleen) of Nashville, TN and Chipper Newton McGee (Karen) of Murfreesboro, TN; her six grandchildren, David McGee (Rose), Kent McGee, Katie Moody (Brent), Corey McGee (Stacey), Steven McGee (Stephanie), and Sean McGee (Caroline); her eighteen great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Titus, Xander, and Josie Moody, Kenny, Jensyn, and Lendyn McGee, Forrest, Emmett, Hazel, and Juniper McGee, Aiden and Ember McGee, Brody and Fletcher McGee, Theodore, Julian, and Marcella McGee; her sister-in-law, Jerrie Moore; one niece; and four nephews.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Thursday, May 1, 2025, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Thursday, May 1, 2025, with Drew Edwards officiating. Interment will follow at Mimosa Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN.
