The Maury County Fire Department responded to two mutual aid responses overnight on Friday, April 18th. The first occurred in assistance with the Haz Mat Truck to the City of Franklin on I-65 at the 61-mile marker in response to a propane leak from an RV. After units arrived, the leak was soon controlled and the vehicle was rendered safe by removing the tank that was pushed up and into the RV from the accident. The department also responded to a landfill fire on Mooresville Highway at 3:21 AM. A tanker from Marshall County responded and was on stand by while dozers cut a line around the fire. The tanker was released after the fire was contained at 4:30 AM.
