According to WAFF48, in the case of a man charged with the murder of a teenager from Huntsville in Fayetteville, a jury returned a verdict on Wednesday. In 2022, Robtavious Hawk was convicted of shooting JaMichael Harris. On Wednesday morning, Hawk’s lawyers and the prosecution presented their closing arguments. Hawk’s lawyer maintained that he was protecting himself, but the prosecution claimed that Hawk’s account did not support the evidence. JaMichael Harris was seated in a car when he was shot and killed. He was accompanied by another teenager and his older sibling. Hawk gave a defense testimony on Tuesday. Hawk said that after Harris nearly struck him with his vehicle, he and his brother aimed a rifle at him. Hawk claimed that after that, Harris’ brother opened fire on him from the passenger seat. Additionally, he said the teenagers attempted to take his necklace. Robtavious Hawk is the one who shot and killed Harris on February 13th, 2022, according to testimony given by Harris’ older brother, Jamari Battle, on Monday. Tennessee Bureau of Investigation investigators confirmed that two distinct types of 9mm bullets were discovered and provided testimony regarding the bullet’s trajectory. According to Hawk’s defense team, he was merely defending himself against what he said was an armed robbery.
