Rotary District Governor-Elect Chris Williams addressed the Lawrenceburg Rotary Club on Friday, April 11th, 2025, sharing his vision for making Rotary more relevant and engaging to members across the district. Speaking to local Rotarians at their regular Friday meeting, Williams emphasized the importance of reconnecting with the heart of Rotary: community service and meaningful engagement. “One of our biggest challenges today,” he noted, “is getting people — even our own members — truly involved in serving their communities.” Williams explored the personal journey of becoming a Rotarian, describing how most members experience a defining “Rotary Moment” that transforms them from simply attending meetings to actively living out Rotary’s mission. “That moment is different for everyone,” he said, “but it’s what makes us Rotarians in spirit, not just in name.” Highlighting innovative approaches to growth, Williams shared the success story of the neighboring Pulaski Rotary Club, which expanded from 23 to 63 members by launching a Satellite Club that meets on Tuesday evenings. The flexible meeting option has drawn in new members who otherwise might not be able to attend traditional lunchtime meetings. As he prepares to step into his role as District Governor, Williams aims to inspire clubs throughout the district to adopt creative, inclusive strategies that honor Rotary’s legacy while embracing new opportunities to serve and grow.
