James Arnold “Jimmy” Grimes, 70, of Florence, passed away April 10, 2025 at North Alabama Medical Center. Jimmy took pride in providing care for his number one girl, Linda, his wife of 46 years. He proudly served in the United States Navy and was a Veteran of the Korean War. He retired from AT&T after 45 years of service.
We are all a little jealous that Paw Paw went home to be with Emma Grace, but we know he’s smiling from ear to ear to see his girl again.
Survivors include:
Wife: Linda Myrick Grimes
Son: Kenneth Myrick (Lori)
Daughter: Paula “Sissy” Gargis (Paul)
Grandchildren: Ethan Myrick, Hannah Beth Myrick, Kendal Myrick
Preceded in death by:
Parents: Cecil Grimes & Betty Austin Grimes
Brothers: Roger Grimes, Tony Grimes
Sister: Brenda Grimes
Granddaughter: Emma Grace Blankenship
There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 2:00pm, at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens, with Bro. Tim Grigsby officiating. Burial will follow at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
Pall bearers will be: Jamie Hammond, Drew Thigpen, Henry Walker, Roy Burks, Russ South, and Brady South.
