The Lewis County Jail Received a Perfect State Inspection

Recently, the Lewis County Jail has received a perfect State inspection. Because of their efforts, the Tennessee Corrections Institute formally reaffirmed the jail’s status as “State Certified” this year. Sherrif Tiller stated, “Passing the annual TCI inspection is a milestone that highlights our commitment to public safety and effective corrections. I commend every member of our team for their exceptional service.” There is more to passing a jail inspection than just following the rules. Additionally, it strengthens the state’s trust for Lewis County’s local correctional system. Jail Administrator Keltner stated, “A certified facility means that our staff are fully trained in the latest correctional practices, and that we are adhering to all state and federal guidelines. This helps protect the Jail from lawsuits, which saves the county and taxpayers countless dollars each year.” The Lewis County Government is still dedicated to upholding these distinct and strict standards at the jail and carrying out its goal of effectively serving the community.
