Melvin “Tooter” Boyd, Jr.

Melvin “Tooter” Boyd, Jr., age 58, of Ethridge, TN passed away Monday, April 7, 2025, at Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital West in Nashville, TN. He was born in Nashville, TN, a truck driver and construction worker most of his life, and of the Baptist Faith. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, loved music and playing guitar.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Boyd, Sr. and Edna Lou Rodgers Boyd; and his wife, Tammy Lynn Keeton Boyd.

He is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth “Libbi” Ayers (John) and Melissa Hargrove (Kevan) both of Summertown, TN; one grandson, Jasper “Jazz” Ayers of Summertown, TN; two granddaughters, Kimberly Hargrove and Madison Hargrove both of Summertown, TN; four brothers, Eddie Boyd (Linda) of Leoma, TN, Mark Boyd (Penny) of Lawrenceburg, TN, Neal Boyd of Lawrenceburg, TN, and Shane Boyd of Lawrenceburg, TN; three sisters, Melba McKey (Ray) of Leoma, TN, Nancy Boyd of Lawrenceburg, TN, and Mechelle Eaton (Shane) of Lawrenceburg, TN; loved by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Those serving as pallbearers are Shane Boyd, Shane Eaton, Derek Eaton, Eddie Boyd, Neal Boyd, and Steven Russ.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Thursday, April 10, 2025, with Steve Hughes officiating. Interment will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery in Ethridge, TN.
