April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, a time to increase awareness and encourage initiatives aimed at safeguarding children’s welfare. Blake Lay, the mayor of Lawrenceburg, and Lawrence County Executive David Morgan formally declared April 2025 to be Child Abuse Prevention Month in Lawrence County on Monday, March 31st. Additionally, this proclamation commemorates the 25th anniversary of Kid’s Place/A Child Advocacy Center, which has been assisting thousands of children and families in Giles, Lawrence, Maury, and Wayne Counties, which make up the 22nd Judicial District of Tennessee, for the past 25 years. The amazing work of Kid’s Place staff, board members, and important partners from the District Attorney’s office, child protective services, and law enforcement is acknowledged and honored. Their commitment helps kids recover from the trauma of abuse and prevent its long-term consequences.
