An Individual is Identified Involving the Hit-And-Run in Athens, Alabama

Following the story of a hit-and-run in Athens from WAFF 48, an individual has been identified. The driver suspected of hitting a pedestrian on Tuesday night has been arrested by the Athens Police Department. The suspect is identified as Bethany Jade Gray and has been transported to the Limestone County Jail with a $5,000 bond. Officers went to the location near Highway 72, West of I-65, for a hit-and-run incident that involved a pedestrian. It was established by investigators that the pedestrian was heading west on Highway 72 while the vehicle was going in the opposite direction. The vehicle struck the pedestrian and proceeded East on Highway 72, departing the scene. The pedestrian was transported to Huntsville Hospital that night and at this time is stable and awaiting surgery.
