Man Charged with Murder in Florence After a Fight at a Local Bar

On March 16th, 2025, Jeremy Benson and Brandon Davis engaged in a verbal dispute at a local establishment in Florence. The fight intensified when Brandon Davis threw a punch at Jeremy Benson, causing Benson to hit his head on the concrete. Jeremy Benson succumbed to his injuries on March 21st, 2025. Brandon Davis has been arrested for murder and is awaiting an Aniah’s Law hearing at the Lauderdale County Detention Center, where he is being held without bond. Every suspect is considered innocent until proven guilty.
