A Perfect Year For The Loretto Mustangs

The Loretto Boys Basketball Team rang-up a perfect season capping it with a State Championship.

The Mustang team proved they were the best with thrilling 68-66 overtime win over Alcoa to win the TSSAA Class 2A Boys State Championship, the second title in school history and the first since 2018.

Alcoa turned several Loretto miscues into points and finished the first half strong taking a 36-28 lead at halftime.

The Mustangs tied it up at 44 after a scrappy third quarter.

In the fourth, Loretto scored first and never looked back…
