Lady Raiders Win !!!

With a nod to their very rich history and tradition, the Richland Lady Raiders stepped on to the basketball court at the Glass House @ MTSU for the first time in 32 years yesterday.

The Lady Raiders executed Coach Chad Hall’s game plan to perfection, topping Copper Basin 45 to 25 to move to the next round of the Class 1A TSSAA State Basketball Tournament.

Shelby Higgins had a flawless night leading the Lady Raiders with 26 points followed by Bailey Blair with 12 points and Katelyn Bass with 6 points. Kate Kirk led the way on the boards with 10 rebounds.

The Lady Raiders will now move on to a game against Greenfield Friday @ 11am.

That game can be heard here on Classic KSR beginning around 10:45am.

By the way that team from 32 years ago, the last team to play in Murfreesboro in 1993 featured Betsy Cunningham, Karyn Crabtree, Bonnie Thomason, Christie Fox, Valatta Morris, Jill Alsup, TJ Edwards, Jennifer Hazelwood, Gwen Howell, Reagan Johnson, Michelle Kimbrough, Shawn Bolden, Dawn Bolden, Selena Jackson, Cynthia Nowlin, and Gwen Bledsoe, and Coaches Dwight Clark & Alton Coble.
