The message from the Giles County Sheriff’s Office…

It has been brought to our attention that there is a scam taking place on Facebook where user’s accounts are being taken over and involves the sale of an automobile.

The scammers are asking for a deposit through Venmo, Cashapp, or other forms of payment.

DO NOT fall victim to these scams. We would encourage you not to send any money without a face to face meeting and we would recommend that you speak directly to the owner of the item you wish to purchase. Please take caution to protect yourselves.
