Athens Man Arrested On Child Pornography Charges

An Athens man was arrested last Friday on multiple child pornography charges.

According to authorities, an investigation regarding child pornography began in February after information was received from the Regional Evidence Analysis & Cyber-Intelligence Team.

Timothy James Swaffer, 30, was identified as the main suspect in the investigation.

Friday, a search warrant was executed at Swaffer’s residence on Audubon Lane in Athens.

Authorities said during the search several images of individuals under 18 engaged in an act of sexually explicit conduct were found. Swaffer was arrested for 10 counts of Possession with Intent to Disseminate Child Pornography.

This investigation remains ongoing and more charges are expected.
