City of Ethridge officials discussed a septic tank issue during their February meeting. They indicated that the city’s septic tank is not situated on city-owned property. In order to remedy the situation they discussed the option of boring underneath the railroad tracks and tying the tank into the city’s sanitary sewer system. Since that option would cost around $500,000, they determined that the more economical option would be to install a new septic tank on city-owned property next to city hall.
