Representative Doggett Appointed To The Tennessee Peace Officers Commission

Giles Countian and State Representative Clay Doggett, Republican of Pulaski, has been appointed to the Tennessee Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission, Tennessee’s main law enforcement regulatory agency.

All local police personnel in Tennessee are subject to training and standards developed and enforced by the Commission.

The commission also certifies instructors, specialized schools, and curriculum and encourages ongoing law enforcement training.

Doggett, the chair of the House Criminal Justice Subcommittee and a former law enforcement official, will be in office for two years, ending on November 4th, 2026. He completed Class 1523 at the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy.
