James “Jimmy” Black, age 91 of Minor Hill died Sunday February 16, 2025 at Hospice Family Care in Huntsville. He was born in Minor Hill, a “jack of all trades”, in the United States Army, a Giles County Commissioner, and a member of the Civic Club and Minor Hill Church of Christ.
Visitation will be 11:30 until 2:30pm Sunday February 23rd, 2025 at Carr and Erwin Funeral Home.
Services will be at 2:30pm.
Burial will be in Minor Hill Cemetery.
The family suggests contributions be sent to the Bank of Frankewing to help with family expenses.
Survivors include his wife, Sandy Thigpen Black of Minor Hill, son, Derek Black of Minor Hill, daughter, Debbie Gatlin and husband Browney of Prospect, step daughter, Tammy Ball and husband Eddie of Pulaski, step son, Marty Robinson and wife Keala of Lawrenceburg, step brother, Richard Felker and wife Evelyn of Pulaski, step sister, Fay Carter and husband Larry of Elkmont, 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Carr and Erwin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for James “Jimmy” Black.
