Changes are Being Made for Passports

Lawrence County residents, due to a presidential directive that only recognized two sexes, all passport forms with extra alternatives are no longer valid. Along with county clerks nationwide, Russ Brewer, the clerk for Lawrence County, is awaiting the updated forms. In the meantime, if you are filing for a new passport, renewing a passport, or need to change your name, forms can be found on the U.S. Department of State website at www.travel.state.gov. To finish the process, you can visit the County Clerk’s office to complete forms and take your passport photo.
