A former Ardmore High School employee is facing multiple charges in connection to having sex with a student, according to officials.
Authorities say the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force executed an arrest warrant for Nicholas Murphy, 35, Thursday.
Sources confirmed that Murphy was a performance arts teacher at Ardmore High School and a music director at First Christian Church. He resigned from his role at Ardmore High School and was terminated by church leaders.
Limestone County Officials released the following statement…
This employee of the district resigned on January 13th, 2025. The Limestone County Board of Education accepted the resignation on January 14th, 2025, after a thorough investigation on the matter. The investigation has since been turned over to law enforcement.
Murphy is charged with four counts of School Employee Engaging in Sex Act or Deviant Sexual Intercourse with a Student under 19 Years, and two counts of School Employee Distributing Obscene Material to a Student.
He was held on a $70,000 bond in the Madison County jail before being released Thursday night.
