Tuesday, January 21st, the Moulton Police Department responded to a call about a burglary at a local laundromat on Curtis Street.
At the scene authorities discovered that ten of the business’s washers and dryers were damaged around the change inserts of the machines, and a vending machine and one of the coin inserts at the carwash next door to the laundromat were damaged as well.
Authorities obtained security camera footage from that night of the crime. The footage showed the burglary and the suspects’ get-away car had Tennessee plates out of Lawrenceburg.
The Lawrenceburg Police Department was notified and officers then found and detained two suspects involved in the interstate laundromat burglary, Daniel Lee Byrd and Sierra Kalene Forlines, both of Lawrenceburg.
Byrd was booked for Burglary in the 3rd degree and Criminal Mischief in the 1st Degree. His bond was set at $8,000.00. Forlines was booked for Burglary in the 3rd degree, her bond was set at $4,000.00. Both have since made bond and have been released pending the Lawrence County Grand Jury.
