Scotty Daniel Barnes, age 48, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Tuesday, January 07, 2025, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. He was a native of Lewis County, TN, employed at Middle TN Christmas Lights, and of the Christian Faith. Mr. Barnes served his country in the U.S. Army during Operation Iraq Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Earl “Jamup” and Azalee Smith; and his paternal grandparents, Thomas and Martha Barnes.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Barnes; one son, Kaleb Barnes; one daughter, Annabelle White (Jake); his father, J. T. Barnes (Debbie); his mother, Earlene Barnes; two brothers, Jonathan Barnes and Shay Barnes; brother-in-law, John Daughtry (Amanda); two granddaughters; several aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a strong military brotherhood.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Thursday, January 16, 2025, with T. R. Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Hinestown Cemetery in Summertown, TN with full military honors. The family suggests memorials be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
