Sheffield, Alabama’s historic Park Place property is about to be sold after a much-anticipated auction. The new buyers are from California, according to sources, and are anticipated to take possession of the property later this month. For many years, the property—which contains more than 100 residential units—has been a noticeable element of the Shoals neighborhood. The main building, which was first built in 1948, was used for many years as Shoals Hospital until it was converted into residential apartments in the 1990s by Bob Love, a businessman from the Shoals Area. The auction received a lot of interest in 2024 after being listed for several months on well-known commercial real estate websites like LoopNet. A fresh chapter for the historic building was successfully closed when the property went up for auction in December, with a minimum price of $1.2 million. There is further information to gather for the improvements and opportunities this property has to offer shortly.
