The deer hunting season in Tennessee officially closed on Sunday. The deer harvest in Tennessee will be higher than it was last year, according to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency.
According to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency as of 6:30am Monday (1/6/25), Tennessee hunters have taken 166,060 deer since the first deer hunting opportunity this season opened in August 2024.
During the previous 2023-2024 deer hunting season, hunters took 152,865 deer.
The county with the highest number of deer taken in the state this season was Giles County where the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency indicated hunters took 4,254 deer.
