A Pulaski woman was convicted of defrauding Tennessee’s welfare system, according to a release from the Office of the Inspector General.
According to the Office of the Inspector General, 44-year-old Nicole Joyce-Madison was convicted of TennCare fraud and theft of services after she knowingly reported an inaccurate income to make her household eligible for benefits.
Joyce-Madison and her minor children were the recipients of more than $46,000 in benefits.
Joyce-Madison was found guilty and will serve three years of supervised probation, during which she will pay $125 per month as restitution.
Giles County District Attorney General Brent Cooper prosecuted the case with the assistance of Assistant District Attorney Rebecca S. Parsons.
