Tennessee Letter Grades For Schools

Tennessee released its annual letter grades for every public school in the state Thursday, marking the second time it’s done so under a law that took effect last year.

A total of 1,905 public schools were included in the data released by the Tennessee Department of Education. Here’s how many earned each letter grade in the 2023-24 school year:

A: 290 schools (15.22%)

B: 484 schools (25.41%)

C: 508 schools (26.67%)

D: 330 schools (17.32%)

F: 78 schools (4.01%)

Additionally, 215 schools were not eligible for letter grades. That represents the roughly 11% of remaining schools statewide.
