Alabama Power announced last week that customers can expect to see a reduction in overall retail rates in 2025.
According to a release the Alabama Public Service Commission and Alabama Power said actions taken in 2024 will result in a 1.88% reduction in overall retail rates for 2025.
Alabama Power said from January to March 2025, a typical residential customer using 1,000 kilowatt-hours will see a monthly reduction in their bill by roughly $8.62.
A residential consumer’s bill will be reduced by 80 cents on average throughout the year.
The release states that Alabama Power worked to lessen the effects of rising costs of consumers’ bills by reducing the company’s costs by more than $100 million since 2017.
