Loretto Fire Destroys Shop, Vehicles, Trailer

A fire wreaked havoc on a property in Loretto Saturday according to authorities.

Lawrence County Fire & Rescue said they were dispatched to a structure fire on Busby Road. Multiple callers reported a shop was fully engulfed in flames and endangering a home.

An off-duty Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper and cadet were traveling in the area when they saw the fire. They helped by waking up the people inside the nearby house and getting them to safety.

The fire was extinguished, but the shop, vehicles and a trailer were badly damaged or destroyed.

Multiple units across the county responded to the fire.

The Lawrence County Fire Investigator is investigating the cause of the fire.
