Dog Attack Update From Limestone County

The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office provided an update over the weekend, following a recent dog attack that happened in Elkmont.

The sheriff’s office says the incident happened on Holt Road in Elkmont. Investigators believe the dog owner was taking the dogs for an evening walk when the dogs unexpectedly ran after a jogger.

The sheriff’s office says they cannot provide details on the victim’s condition at this time. They say the dogs involved in the incident were initially taken into custody but have since been euthanized.

According to the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office, a veterinarian listed the dogs as a Mastiff breed.

The sheriff’s office says the circumstances surrounding the attack are still under investigation.
