Deer hunting season for Tennessee hunters who use guns is almost here. Deer Season for Gun, Muzzleloader, and Archery begins Saturday, November 23rd and runs through Sunday, January 5th, 2025.
Deer hunting season, which is among the most popular, began in November and will close out in early January 2025. Along with deer hunting, one of the last seasons of the year to close out in the Volunteer State’s is bear hunting which ends in mid to late December.
There are six hunting units spread across Tennessee. The units are used to divide deer hunting season into different parts.
Our local unit is Unit 2…including Cheatham, Davidson, Dickson, Giles, Hickman, Houston, Humphreys, Lawrence, Lincoln, Lewis, Marshall, Maury, Montgomery, Perry, Robertson, Stewart, Sumner, Wayne, and Williamson counties.
Units 1, 2 and 3 allow three antlerless deer per day.
