Elkmont Man Arrested For Elder Abuse

The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office says a 55-year-old man was arrested in Elkmont after his mother and father were found ‘severely beaten.’

Last week Elkmont Police Chief Donny Johns responded to a 911 call placed by a Good Samaritan for an assault in progress on Children Street.

Chief Johns said that when he arrived he found an older man and woman severely beaten and bleeding.

Charlie Cain Jr, of Elkmont ran from the scene on foot toward the Richard Martin Walking Trail.

Additional officers arriving on the scene started searching for Cain and located him in the woods along the walking trail about a mile from the scene.

Law enforcement was able to take Cain into custody and charged him with, second-degree elder abuse for assaulting his father, domestic violence 3- third-degree criminal mischief, violation of a domestic violence protection order, attempting to elude law enforcement, public intoxication, resisting arrest, and a DUI warrant .

Cain is being held at the Limestone County Jail.
