Two People Transported In Lawrence County Accident

Over the weekend, two people were flown to trauma centers following a collision Friday in Lawrence County.

Lawrence County Fire and Rescue said units were dispatched to a report of a crash with one vehicle on fire and people trapped inside along Buffalo Road near Valley Road.

According to officials, crews from the Ethridge Fire Department were first on scene and confirmed that two individuals were heavily pinned inside one of the vehicles.

While firefighters worked to remove the people from the vehicle, two medical helicopters were called to the scene.

Personnel from Lawrence County EMS provided treatment to the patients.

After the individuals were freed from the vehicle, they were flown to a nearby Level 1 Trauma Center.

Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating the collision. No additional details have been released about this incident.
