Former Trooper Facing Charges

A former Tennessee State Trooper is facing rape and misconduct charges, and has been terminated.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says former trooper Brenton Wiegand engaged in illegal activity with a prostitute from September 2023 until April 2024.

TBI says Wiegand was involved with the female while in his state vehicle and while in uniform.

Wiegand has been charged with one count of aggravated rape and one count of official misconduct, has been terminated from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, and still has the charges to face ahead of him.
