Lawrence County Teen Killed In Single Vehicle Accident

A teen was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Lawrence County Saturday according to authorities.

The accident was on Danley Road.

Tennessee Highway Patrol said a 2008 Nissan Altima was heading north on Danley Road when it failed to negotiate a right curve, went off the left side of the road, and struck an embankment.

The Nissan then hit multiple standing trees, causing it to rotate before it came to rest facing east across the ditch.

Authorities said the 16-year-old Tennessean driving the Nissan (whose name was not included in THP’s preliminary report) died in the crash. The teen was wearing a seatbelt.

No additional details have been released.
