Here’s the latest Unemployment Rates for our area of Middle Tennessee.
Unemployment rates declined in nearly half of Tennessee’s counties in August and remained the same in 20 counties, according to new data from the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development .
Sevier County in East Tennessee recorded the state’s lowest unemployment rate for the month at 2.5%. Houston County had the state’s highest unemployment rate at 5.7%.
Statewide, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 3.1% in August.
Local rates are, Giles County 3.6%, Hardin County 3.9%, Hickman County 3.1%, Lawrence County 3.9%, Lewis County 3.6%, Lincoln County 3.8%, Moore County 2.6%, Marshall County 3.5%, Maury County 3.1%, and Wayne County 3.7%.
