Ethridge Council Approves Animal Control Ordinance

The Ethridge Board of Commissioners approved a new animal control ordinance during their meeting last week, establishing guidelines and requirements for animal ownership within the city limits.  Dogs in the city limits must wear a tag at all times showing proof of vaccination.  Dogs, chickens, and other animals are prohibited from running at-large.  The ordinance also limits residents from owning more than 20 chickens, or other fowl, per acre.  The ordinance outlines placement of kennels and runs on each property, treatment of pets, and consequences of violating the guidelines.
