Main Lock Chamber at Wilson Lock is Closed

The main lock chamber at Wilson Lock on the Tennessee River near Florence, Alabama has been closed by the Tennessee Valley Authority and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District to do further inspections and potential repairs on the lock chamber. The lock chamber will remain closed indefinitely. Severe weather might have an impact on lockdown operations’ safety. Following Hurricane Helene, the US Army Corps of Engineers will keep an eye on the weather and make any required adjustments to operational protocols to protect public safety. As soon as the Nashville District has an approximate timing for the lock reopening, more information will be released.
