The Maury County Office of Emergency Management and Maury Hazardous Operations Team published a press release today stating, “We would like to send our condolences and prayers to everyone that Hurricane Helene is affecting. Second, the Maury County Office of Emergency Management would like to remind the public that Middle Tennessee will be affected by Hurricane Helene starting late Thursday or early Friday and that the effects will last until Sunday. We feel it is fair to urge you to STOP, TURN AROUND, and DON’T DROWN if you come into standing water, even though major flooding is not currently forecast.”
