Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Dept. Warns of Scam

The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department has issued a warning regarding a telephone scam.  Residents who have been targeted have been informed that they have a warrant for their arrest and that they can pay for the warrant using gift cards, prepaid debit cards, or cryptocurrency.  Sheriff’s officials wish to inform residents that the department will never call and request payment for a warrant.  They advise that, if you receive this type of call, you hang up immediately.
