Threatening phone calls to the crisis hotline were received by the Central Alabama Veterans Medical Center in Montgomery on Wednesday, September 18, at around 10:30 a.m. Special Agents from the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency responded to help with the lockout and suspect search. After more research, Michael Barnett, 61, was taken into custody at his Camp Hill home. Barnett faced charges related to issuing false alarms to a hospital and making terroristic threats. Barnett posted a $18,000 bond when he was taken into the Montgomery County Jail. Since then, the Central Alabama Veterans Medical Center’s lockdown has been removed.
